His-Story
Eddie Nicholas Kane was born on January 14, 1979 in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Mary, who ran a homeless shelter, and Norman Kane, an Amtrak employee. He graduated from Armstrong High School of Richmond, Virginia. During his time as a DJ, he was known as "DJ E.K." or "DJ Eddie Kane". His brother, Stacey, is six years older. Eddie Kane began making hip hop backing tracks on a Casio keyboard. While attending high school, he began a long-term collaboration with rapper Nikko Davis, who performed under the name of King Swave. The teenage Kane also joined the production ensemble E.G.H.(which stood for every ghetto hood) which also featured Hood-Entertainment's producer Bone. Kane was also high school friends with D.B. and Cory Dunn, who would go on to be known as Killa T and Violence of the rap group Crushed. In 1994, when Eddie Kane was 14 years old, he was accidentally hit by a fed-x driver and was partially paralyzed for nine months. During this time, he began to learn how to write songs and make beats on a beat machine. By his 28th birthday in 2007, Eddie
invested the money he made into E.G.H. instead of buying studio time. He purchased the Fruity-Loops 7 (producers addition) program along with an M-Audio
device, a $250 Mic, a pop screen, a sophisticated mic stand, and plenty of high quality blank CD's all from The Guitar Center. Eddie began making hard banging beats and melodic instrumentals. He also recorded and made beats for local freestylers, MC's, vocalists, and for those who just like to hear good music!! In the year 2009 Eddie Kane finally organized a nonprofit organization called Encourage Greater Happiness!! After coming out of the recession and out of a corrupted relationship with a business partner up north in 2011, Eddie decided to take the move back to Virginia where he was born and raised most of his life. Now in his home town, Eddie Kane plans to reach out to his community once again and spread his God given talent using music as his vehicle, to encourage greater happiness, throughout the nation and for generations to come!!
